More than two decades of law-enforcement and public-safety experience supporting a major public transportation environment.

Current and previous responsibilities include explosives-detection canine operations, handler training, certification preparation, operational readiness, equipment requirements, training facilities, program development, and public-safety response.

K-9 Program Leadership

  • Provide training and operational support for an explosives-detection canine program responsible for protecting public transportation infrastructure, employees, passengers, facilities, and special events.
  • Coordinate recurring training for multiple explosive detection canine teams operating in a 24/7 public-safety environment.
  • Conduct and oversee approximately 220 canine retraining sessions annually.
  • Support training and certification requirements for approximately 14 canine handlers and their assigned working dogs.
  • Participate in the training, development, evaluation, and introduction of new working dogs into operational service.
  • Develop realistic operational training scenarios involving transportation facilities, vehicles, buildings, luggage, packages, open areas, elevated hides, and other environments encountered by working canine teams.
  • Evaluate handler and canine performance and identify deficiencies requiring corrective training.
  • Maintain focus on operational readiness and compliance with established canine-training and certification standards.

Explosives Detection & Bomb Technician Experience

  • Extensive operational experience involving explosives detection and public-safety response.
  • Trained bomb technician with experience supporting responses involving suspicious packages, potential explosive hazards, and other public-safety incidents.
  • Knowledge of equipment requirements associated with explosive detection, inspection, search operations, scene safety, protective equipment, and emergency response.
  • Experienced in evaluating specialized equipment in operational public-safety environments.
  • Practical subject-matter knowledge regarding equipment functionality, durability, deployment considerations, and end-user requirements.
